       The literati were 
fond  of  flower  holders 
that  imitated  the  shape 
of ritual bronzes.  Vessel 
shapes such as ku, chih, 
tsun   and   lei   were 
considered the most refined 
and elegant.   Here  the
bamboo  has  been  carved 
to resemble  an  ancient 
bronze ku vessel.
